Flip and Fold

Cards in Envy posted a great tutorial on their Facebook page. It features an easy fold and I knew I had to try it. It was so fun that I made five of the first card and four of the second!

The first one uses some double-sided Screen Prints DP, pink card stock and a Hot Off the Press sentiment. The sentiment pieces were done with Nesties.

The second one showcases a piece of double-sided Doodlebug DP, some white card stock, and red Bazzill. This sentiment is also from Hot Off the Press.

Is there a particular fold you like to use besides the normal one?

Hi

I found the idea for this card right here on Pinterest. The stripes are from a scrap of DCWV. That bright orange is some Bazzill that has a pretty sheen to it that you can't quite see in this picture. The circles were done with Nesties. I put the circle back in the Nestabilities die and used my We R Memory Keepers piercer around the inside of it. The sentiment is Paper Smooches and the white and blue is card stock. The bling is from my stash. There are four of these for my next OWH box.

Have a marvelous day!

Hearts and flowers

I was going through my stash of paper and found this gorgeous lavender rose piece. I wanted to really showcase it, so I used OWH sketch 171. I layered it on some dark purple Bazzill and added a layered heart to accent the Hero Arts sentiment. I think the rose paper is DCWV. This 12x12 piece of paper made 10 cards for Operation Write Home. It also goes perfectly with Day 208 over on 365 Cards.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Thanks

I made three of these cards for Operation Write Home. It was a piece of scrap that I just got tired of looking at lol. I think it's DCWV. The Paper Smooches sentiment is mounted on Bazzill, as is the designer paper. It's pretty simple and that paper made three more cards for my favorite cause.

Do you ever use scrap papers just so you don't have to see them any more?

My Hero

This card uses the last of my red/white/blue Doodlebug 6x6 pad. I had so much fun using up the whole thing. I used Nesties for the stars and an A Muse stamp. The brads are by Recollections. The layers are Bazzill...red, white and black.

Do you have a hero you could make a card for?

OWH sketch 179

Today is another OWH sketch day. You can find this one here. The magenta paper is Bazzill and the ivory is card stock. The patterned papers are from a miscellaneous pack of 6x6 I purchased at an LSS. I used an EK Success border punch on the bottom piece and the bling is from Michaels.

Happy blog surfing!

Happy Everything!

For this card, I used OWH sketch 177. I'm always happy when a sketch uses a banner. Since purple is my favorite color and I rarely use it, I dug through my papers and found three different purple ones for this card. All together, I got six cards out of it all.

The black background paper is Colorbok. The other two are so old they didn't even have a name on them. I used black and white card stock for layers and the sentiment square. The sentiment is Paper Smooches and the black brads are American Crafts.

Enjoy your day!

CAS(E) this Sketch #37

This sketch from CASE(E) features five Doodlebug circles cut with Nestabilities layered on black with an A Muse sentiment. How cute and easy is that?!

I wish you a wonderful Sunday!

OWH MWT and PPA 164

Today is a two-fer card. Over at Operation Write Home, the Midweek Throwdown is Christmas in July and I used Pals Paper Arts challenge 164 which happens to be a sketch challenge.

I rarely use this pretty gold DeNami paper because I forget I have it, but I found some as I was digging for some brown. The banners are from last year's Christmas line from Bazzill. The red circle is also Bazzill. For the image, I used a Stampin' Up image in Memento Rich Cocoa. The circles are done with Nesties. It's mounted on some dimensional foam.

Here's wishing you a super Saturday!

Cards in Envy Layer Challenge

This challenge was made for me, I think. I love layers on cards and rarely have less than 3. You can find the challenge here. I used black and white card stock with some Simple Stories design papers. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado. I used OWH sketch 168.

I hope you'll take the time to play along!

Deconstructed Sketch 110

Today I have the new Deconstructed Sketch 110 for you. I was looking for a different color combo than I usually use and this is definitely it. I really like how the brown Simple Stories dp shows up against the red and yellow Bazzill. The sentiment is by A Muse and those dots at the bottom are Pearl Pen.

Have a fantastic Friday!

OWH sketch 181

Here are two different takes on sketch 181. I used Hero Arts stamps from the set All the Time, Simple Stories design papers and some black and black card stock. I really like how they both came out!

Let's keep those cards flowing to Operation Write Home!

365 Cards...Day 195

I found a great site that has a new card/challenge every day. This is Day 195 out of 365. The design paper is Simple Stories, the brown, teal and yellow are Bazzill, and the white is card stock. For the stamps, I used two from Paper Smooches. The circles were done with Nestabilities and the border is by Martha Stewart. I touched up the image a bit with Copics. The finishing touch was a set of googlie eyes!

Make sure to check out 365 Cards. It has some great ideas! And with so many of us making cards for Operation Write Home, we need lots of ideas.

Live in the Moment

If you follow me, you know I rarely make CAS (clean and simple) cards. I'm all about lots of layers. So I was thrilled that this card turned out so well! I used a Paper Smooches die, some Hero Arts stamps and a piece of Simple Stories paper. I love those streamers on the handlebars and the sentiment reminds me of how much I used to enjoy riding my first bicycle.

This card is also for CFC109 over on CAS-ual Fridays and CAS(E) this sketch #36.

Here's hoping you have a chance to get inky today!

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge 100!

Sketchbook Saturday has reached it's 100th sketch! How exciting for them and their followers. You can find the sketch challenge right here over on Random Acts of Creativity.

For my card, I used some pretty scraps of Echo Park patterned paper and ivory card stock. The pretty embellishments are Jolee's Boutique and the sentiment is from Inkadinkado.

Enjoy your day!

OWH sketch 180

Here are two cards for OWH sketch 180. They're the same except the Doodlebug papers and sentiments. The black, white and red are basic card stock. Both sentiments are from Paper Smooches. The border was done with an EK border punch. The clear bling at the bottom is from my stash.

Happy crafting!

Freshly Made Sketch 94

My favorite stamps lately have been my Paper Smooches set. I love the writing style and the images are so cute and adorable. Both the image and sentiment are by Paper Smooches. I colored the chickie with Copics and used Pearl Pen for the dots. The brown is textured card stack and the white is from Stampin' Up! The background paper is by Paper Adventures. I used FMS94 for the sketch.

I hope you have time to get crafty today!

Mojo Monday 301

I enjoyed using the latest Mojo Monday sketch. The circle paper is from Pebbles; the black and white is basic card stock; the green, blue and orange are Bazzill. The green is embossed with the Cuttlebug Spots & Dots folder. I used a Stampendous sentiment. The ovals were done with Nesties. American Crafts makes the white brads.

Have a fabulous day!

Thank you...MWT and sketch 178

Today I have a dual duty card. It's for the Midweek Throwdown and sketch 178, both for Operation Write Home. The MWT calls for masculine cards and I managed to get four out of this piece of double sided Moxxie DP. The orange, brown and green are Bazzill and the white is card stock. The stud embellishments are from Michaels. The sentiment is by Stampendous and stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa.

Thanks for taking a look.

Clean & Simple 248

Here's a card based on Clean & Simple 248. I really love the background clock paper by DCWV. It goes so well with the Hero Arts stamp set. The brown paper is Bazzill and the white is card stock. American Crafts makes those black brads and a Martha Stewart border punch did those holes. The circle and scalloped circle are done with Nesties.

I'm trying to branch out from using only Operation Write Home sketches which I love because they have measurements on them. Other sketches make me think and I'm enjoying that lately!

Scraps

I had this scrap of Doodlebug chevron paper I needed to use and this is what I came up with. I cut it diagonally and made two cards out of it. Both cards use red and blue Bazzill as well as some basic card stock. The first one has two A Muse stamps. The HAPPY is really dark and pops much better in reality. The second has a Paper Smooches sentiment heat embossed in white

Have a fabulous week!

One layout...four cards...lots of red, white & blue

This layout is pretty simple and easy to make into any type of card. I used Doodlebug paper from a 6x6 pad, some Bazzill, and some white and black card stock. The "screw" brads are by Recollections and one of my new favorites as you'll soon discover. The black brads are American Crafts and the red is bling from a friend.

This one has an A Muse sentiment I got at their huge sale a couple of weeks ago.

The bug stamp is by Hero Arts and the sentiment is Studio G.

The motorcycle and sentiment are from Hero Arts on this card.

Last one for today has another sentiment from A Muse.

Have a happy and safe Fourth of July!

Kathryn's 6x6 Tutorial

One of the blogs I follow, Kathryn's Cards, posted a wonderful tutorial back in May. She took the time to figure out two different ways to cut some 6x6 papers and make several cards with a minimal amount of scraps. You can find her tutorial right here. The first time you do it, it take a little time to figure it all out, but once you have that first set of cards done, it goes so much faster. The first tutorial I did was the second one and it makes eight cards.

Here is what I came up with. I used a Doodlebug Sweet Cakes 6x6 pad that has 24 double-sided pages. All of the other papers are basic black and white card stock. The first card uses a Stampin' Up! stamp and the sentiment is A Muse. The silver embellies are JoAnn Craft Essentials. There are three of this card.

This one uses more JoAnn Craft Essentials embellies and another A Muse sentiment. There are two of this layout.

There is only one of this card. The sentiment/embellishment is from Michaels dollar bin. I used a white gel pen on the darker pink to make a border.

This last one (although there are two of them) has banners which I love! I added some American Crafts black brads and what I believe is a Studio G sentiment.

I'm looking forward to using this tutorial again as well as giving the other one a try. Are there any tutorials that have truly inspired you?
