Penguin Thanks

Isn't this Memory Box penguin cute? He'd make a great thank you card for children to send as a thanks for a holiday gift. Remember when we had to write them? I had to do it the day after Christmas before I could do anything else! I hated it back then, but I can see now what an important lesson I was learning.

The image and Inkadinkado sentiment are stamped with Memento Tuxedo black on white card stock then layered with black. The red and blue are Bazzill and the patterned paper is Teresa Collins. The circles are done with Nestabilities. I did the blue first, thinking it would reflect water, but I ended up liking the red one better.

Girly Miss You

Today I have a girly card for you. I rarely make straight out girly cards, but I bought a DCWV 6x6 paper pad on Black Friday that's filled with papers that scream GIRL! It was fun working on something so feminine. The pink base is Bazzill and the green/white are basic card stock. For the Paper Smooches sentiment, I used a SU ink. The dies are Nestabilities. I added the twine for a bit for detail.

Miss you

Here are a couple of cards for Day 321 over at 365 Cards. I like how this sketch works so well with the Hero Arts set. The first card uses Graphic 45 Joyous paper while the second one uses Karen Foster Design Beige Shimmer. All of the colored papers are Bazzill except for the ivory card stock. Everything is stamped in Fresh Ink Chocolate and the brads are American Crafts. The circles were done with Nestabilities. I made several of these cards using Bazzill scraps.

Shine!

It's time for OWH sketch 196. This card is mostly Doodle Pantry...the image, sentiment and patterned digital papers. The black paper and white paper is card stock and the yellow is Bazzill. I used Nestabilities for the image shapes. This card fits into the current Cards in Envy challenge to use punches or dies.

I wish you a marvelous day filled with laughter.

My socks love you!

I used Clean & Simple 266 for this cute card. I found the Graphic 45 Joyous Noel patterned paper on clearance at an LSS and paired it with brown, red and white card stock. The Lawn Fawn main image and hearts embracing the sentiment are stamped with Memento Lady Bug and those little hearts on the socks are colored with a Copic. The sentiment is also Lawn Fawn and stamped with Fresh Ink Chocolate. I also used Chocolate around the image circle to soften it a bit. The image shapes were done with Nestabilities.

Please pardon the blurry picture...it just didn't want to focus.

Enjoy yourself today!

You're an apple!

My card for you today is based on Freshly Made Sketches 111. The image and sentiment are from Lawn Fawn's My Silly Valentine and stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black. I colored them with Copics then used Nestabilities Labels 9 to cut them out. The white and black papers are card stock and the polka dots are Simple Stories Snap Color Vibe. The bling is Triveni Craft. This card also fits the OBDB challenge of love cards.

Take some time to smile today.

Birthday Stars

I went looking for something on my craft table the other day and was shocked at how many bits and pieces I had laying around...stamped sentiments, squares to make pinwheel cards, a baggie of pastel paper pieces that I'm sure I cut for a reason but can't remember why. The sentiment on this card is one of those. It's been stamped and layered for quite awhile now. So...I finally decided it was time to use it on a card!

The SU sentiment is stamped in SU Real Red. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background and Nesties to cut out the stars. The papers are Bazzill except for the blue and white card stock.

Do you have bits and pieces like I do? I hope I can keep my plan on using them up before the end of the year.

Deconstructed Sketch 123

I love how this Deconstructed Sketch 123 leaves the option for so much white space. The star paper is DCWV and the striped paper is Paper Pizazz; the red is Bazzill, the grey is DeNami and the white is card stock. I used Nestabilities for the circles. The birthday sentiment is Stampendous stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black while the Noel is CTMH stamped in SU Night of Navy. The red bling is from my stash.

I actually used the birthday card for my stepfather's birthday and I added five of the Christmas cards to my stash.

Happy Halloween!

I've always loved Halloween, whether I'm dressing up or handing out candy to the neighborhood kids. Unfortunately, we don't get trick-or-treaters here. So today I'll be making cards, except they'll probably be Valentine cards for OWH lol.

The papers are DCWV and basic card stock. I got all three stamps this year and they're all by Northwoods Rubber Stamps inked in Memento Tuxedo Black. The brads are by American Crafts and the circles were done with Nestabilities.

What's your favorite part of Halloween?

Fun with SEI

I have this 6x6 pad of SEI papers that kinda match, but not really match...know what I mean? So I decided to use this card from Pinterest as my inspiration since it only uses small strips of different papers. I used Fresh Ink Chocolate for the Hero Arts image and Hot Off the Press sentiment. It goes so well with the dark brown Bazzill circle layer and bottom strip. I wanted to use a dark color at the bottom to help anchor the card. I added a black brad by American Crafts to give the whole thing some extra dimension. The circle sentiment is done with Nesties and popped up.

These will likely go into my "gift" drawer and be part of a Christmas present.

Many Authentique Thanks

Today I chose OWH sketch 151 and some 6x6 Authentique Loyal papers. I love how these two pieces seem to flow together and look like one piece. The blue and green circles are Bazzill and cut with Nestabilities. The DeNami sentiment is stamped in SU Old Olive and SU Night of Navy onto some ivory card stock. The circles are all popped up with some Scotch adhesive.

Are you ready for Halloween? Have you mailed your spooky cards yet?

A CASE from Pinterest

Here's another card I found on Pinterest that I had to CASE. I used part of my 6x6 Authentique Loyal pad, some pretty green and blue Bazzill and ivory/black card stock. The sentiment is Stampendous inked in Memento Tuxedo Black. The circles were done with Nesties and the buttons are from my stash. I used my Copic Multi-Liner for the black dashes.

What's your favorite place to find inspiration?

Mojo Monday Multiples

Today I have two challenges to share. The first one is this great Mojo Monday 312 sketch and the second follows the OWH MWT Multiply the fun...I made six of these cards. The purple and yellow are Bazzill. I'm really loving the dark purple with this pretty snowflake paper. The circles were done with Nestabilities and the sentiment is Savvy stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black. That pretty white brad is The Paper Studio.

Do you tend to use the same items until they're gone like I usually do? Like all of one 12x12? Or an entire pack of brads?

CELEBRATE!

I've had this idea pinned on Pinterest for a very long time. I finally pulled out my bag of buttons and made a few. The striped paper is by Pebbles layered on some red and blue Bazzill. The circles were done with Nestabilites. For the sentiment, I used one from Hot Off the Press stamped in SU Real Red.

Are you ready for the HUGE OWH blog hop tomorrow?

Eye Miss You

When I saw this card on Pinterest, I knew I had to make my own version. The original is a Halloween card, but I could easily see it as a miss you card. The blue paper is basic card stock and brown paper is Bazzill with a Martha Stewart punched border. The polka dot paper is Basic Grey and that orange ribbon...I got that to use on Halloween cards lol. The eyes are done with Nesties and the sentiment is Hero Arts stamped in Fresh Ink Chocolate.

Have a fabulous weekend!

hOWLoween!

I rarely make Halloween cards, but a friend needs some so I got busy! The glittery paper is Cloud 9 Design and the image is Inkadinkado. The circles are done with Nesties. I colored it with miscellaneous markers instead of Copics because it's stamped with StazOn Jet Black. It's mounted on some blue Bazzill to match the blue in his hat. The punch and sentiment are SU. I punched the hole in the glittery paper and stamped the actual card base with the sentiment. The whole thing is mounted on DeNami grey. I think the googlie eyes are the perfect final touch.

Are there holidays you usually don't make cards for?

A Card Set for a challenge

A Blog Named Hero challenged us to make a card set of at least three cards. This was a perfect challenge since I plan on giving card sets for Christmas gifts this year.

I chose some polka dot Bella Press for the background then other colors to draw out the various colors. The green circle is SU Old Olive and the pink circle is SU Melon Mambo. The brown "weeds" are done in Fresh Ink Chocolate. The flower stem is SU Old Olive and the flower uses SU Melon Mambo, as do all of the sentiments. I used Nestablilities for all of the circles. The sentiment stamps are from Inkadinkado and the image stamps are from Hero Arts Earth Flowers.

Have you started making any of your holiday gifts yet?

Thanks...OWH sketch 184

Today I have two cards using OWH sketch 184. They both use Authentique: Loyal papers and some green and blue Bazzill. The base and sentiment circle are an off white card stock. The circles were done with Nesties. I used Fresh Ink Chocolate to stamp the Inkadinkado sentiment.

Take some time for yourself today. We all deserve it.

Thank you x3

I had fun using this Mojo Monday 298 sketch. It's busier than I usually use but I think it turned out quite well. The DP is Basic Grey and the blue and green are Bazzill. The stars are done with Nestabilities. They are held together with an American Crafts brad and popped with some Scotch adhesive. I used SU Old Olive and Fresh Ink Chocolate to stamp the Inkadinkado sentiments.

I hope you have time to get inky today!

Just A Note

I like how this card turned out...love the pink and black together. But, geez, it has a lot of pieces and I made enough for 12 cards to go in my OWH box. It's worth it, though, knowing they're going to create smiles. I found the idea on Pinterest.

I used SU Circle Circus and colored a bit of the circles with Copic V05. Then they got punched out and mounted on black card stock. The pink paper is card stock from my stash. The white background square was stamped with SU Basic Grey and the pink was stamped with VersaMark. I used a DeNami sentiment. The circles and sentiment are popped up with dimensionals.

This card is way outside my comfort zone. It's so busy and I prefer much more simple. Do you enjoy venturing outside your comfort zone?
