Are there holidays you usually don't make cards for?

hOWLoween!
I rarely make Halloween cards, but a friend needs some so I got busy! The glittery paper is Cloud 9 Design and the image is Inkadinkado. The circles are done with Nesties. I colored it with miscellaneous markers instead of Copics because it's stamped with StazOn Jet Black. It's mounted on some blue Bazzill to match the blue in his hat. The punch and sentiment are SU. I punched the hole in the glittery paper and stamped the actual card base with the sentiment. The whole thing is mounted on DeNami grey. I think the googlie eyes are the perfect final touch.

A Card Set for a challenge
A Blog Named Hero challenged us to make a card set of at least three cards. This was a perfect challenge since I plan on giving card sets for Christmas gifts this year.
I chose some polka dot Bella Press for the background then other colors to draw out the various colors. The green circle is SU Old Olive and the pink circle is SU Melon Mambo. The brown "weeds" are done in Fresh Ink Chocolate. The flower stem is SU Old Olive and the flower uses SU Melon Mambo, as do all of the sentiments. I used Nestablilities for all of the circles. The sentiment stamps are from Inkadinkado and the image stamps are from Hero Arts Earth Flowers.

Thanks...OWH sketch 184
Today I have two cards using OWH sketch 184. They both use Authentique: Loyal papers and some green and blue Bazzill. The base and sentiment circle are an off white card stock. The circles were done with Nesties. I used Fresh Ink Chocolate to stamp the Inkadinkado sentiment.
Take some time for yourself today. We all deserve it.

Thank you x3
I had fun using this Mojo Monday 298 sketch. It's busier than I usually use but I think it turned out quite well. The DP is Basic Grey and the blue and green are Bazzill. The stars are done with Nestabilities. They are held together with an American Crafts brad and popped with some Scotch adhesive. I used SU Old Olive and Fresh Ink Chocolate to stamp the Inkadinkado sentiments.
I hope you have time to get inky today!

Miss You
I just opened a new 6x6 Authentique: Loyal pad and I'm really loving the colors. The green and blue go great together and it's easy to make some more masculine type cards. This card idea came from Pinterest. The solid blue and green are Bazzill. I was at my LSS for the day when I made these two cards and the owner, Kelle, make the buttons for me on her Cricut since I didn't have my button punch with me. The brads are from Bazzill and hold the two button layers together. It's popped up with some Scotch adhesive. The sentiment is by Daisy Bucket Designs and stamped in Fresh Ink Chocolate.
Enjoy your weekend!

Wrap yourself up!
Here are some more Halloween cards for my friend. I used DCWV papers for the black backgrounds and SU for the orange. The green is basic card stock from my stash. I love this image, but have no idea who makes it. The sentiment is Endless Creations. The image and sentiment are stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black. I rounded the bottom corners to give it a bit more interest.
I like how these both turned out. They work for kids or adults, male or female.

Happy Birthday!
I made this card for my friend Kristie's birthday. Her hubby took her to Hawaii for her birthday so I pulled out my SU Circle Circus and used the Hawaiian looking flower stamp. The ink is actually SU Melon Mambo, not red, since she loves the color pink. I used punches to make the circles and black card stock to mount the flowers and banner. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. The card base is DeNami grey. The circles and sentiment are popped up.
I really enjoyed making this card for Kristie. I rarely make birthday cards these days since OWH doesn't have any current need for them.

Hexagon Hello
I've finally taken some time to CASE some of the cards I've pinned over on Pinterest. The original card can be found here. I used s.e.i. papers and a Fiskars hexagon punch. The kraft and mulberry paper is from my stash as is the bling. The sentiment is DeNami and stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black.
Do you CASE cards from Pinterest?

Just A Note
I like how this card turned out...love the pink and black together. But, geez, it has a lot of pieces and I made enough for 12 cards to go in my OWH box. It's worth it, though, knowing they're going to create smiles. I found the idea on Pinterest.
I used SU Circle Circus and colored a bit of the circles with Copic V05. Then they got punched out and mounted on black card stock. The pink paper is card stock from my stash. The white background square was stamped with SU Basic Grey and the pink was stamped with VersaMark. I used a DeNami sentiment. The circles and sentiment are popped up with dimensionals.

This card is way outside my comfort zone. It's so busy and I prefer much more simple. Do you enjoy venturing outside your comfort zone?

Masculine Hey There
The inspiration for this card came from Pinterest. It also came from the desire to make some masculine cards and use up some of the s.e.i. papers I've had for awhile. The brown, silver and orange are card stock. I stamped the Hero Arts image in SU Pumpkin Pie and cut the circle with Nesties. The Paper Smooches sentiment is stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black. Both the image and sentiment are popped up.
This card fits perfectly with Cards in Envy Manly Challenge and OWH ODBD Wheels challenge.

One in a million!
For this card, I used CAS(E) this sketch #44. The stars are a mask using Nestabilities stars. I used Stampin' Up! Night of Navy and Real Red inks as well as Encore Ultimate Metallic Silver with a dauber. The sentiment is from Fiskars and the bling is from my stash.
Do you know someone who is one in a million? Why not give the a call today or send them a card? Everyone likes to know someone is thinking of them.

Thanks so much
Today I have Clean & Simple sketch 256 for you. I started with a small Fiskars hexagon punch to make my mask. Using Distress Ink Spun Sugar and Tea Dye with a dauber, I filled in the three rows. I wanted a bit more flare and found my Fiskars Dot flourishes. The ink is Brilliance Galaxy Gold and takes quite awhile to dry. My Inkadinkado Thank You Words set fit my idea perfectly. I places the sentiments on the card where I wanted them and then places the block over the top to mount them. They're stamped in Fresh Ink Chocolate. Since I'm used to layers on my cards, I still needed a bit more texture and added some Recollections Pearls. The ribbon on top is from my stash.
Enjoy your day!

Hey Buddy
I've been trying to focus on more masculine cards lately and here are two that I've done. The original idea for them came from here. Both cards feature basically the same things. The green and orange papers are DCWV and the polka dot paper is Basic Grey. The sentiment and stars were cut with Nesties while the sentiment itself is by Paper Smooches. I stamped the top one in Fresh Ink Chocolate and the bottom one in Memento Cottage Ivy. The orange and green bling is from Me & My Big Ideas. The stars and sentiment are popped with dimensional adhesive.
Not quite sure why the pictures are so different. I took them in the same spot with the same camera. But at least you can see the vibrancy of the green and orange.

OWH VCMP, Day 2
I hope everyone is enjoying all of the inspiration! I know I am and I'm looking forward to the challenges for day 2. Let's get started, shall we?
Challenge 6: This is a challenge we all know well, the Sunday sketch. The colored papers on this are Doodlebug, except for the grey which is DeNami. I used a random metal balloon embellishment I had in my stash. I didn't put a sentiment on it, so it can be used for any kind of celebration.
Challenge 7: This is a two part challenge, make a kid's card and follow the tic-tac-toe recipe. I chose things with wings, paper piecing and embossing. I used an adorable Fiskars penguin for my focal point. The scarf and boots are paper pieced from scraps and glued with Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive. The white is all SU Whisper White and the grey is DeNami. Everything is stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black. The embossing is the Cuttlebug Snowflakes folder gently tapped with an Encore Ultimate Metallic Silver.
Challenge 8: I really had to dig for some fall papers for this challenge. I used my last piece of "leaf" paper already. The patterned papers are all Colorbok. The SU sentiment is embossed in Recollections white. I used OWH sketch 186.
Challenge 9: This one calls for a bee and a "bee" sentiment. It was an easy choice since I only have one bee stamp from a Recollections set which I colored with Copics. The yellow papers are all from SU. I used the Cuttlebug Honeycomb embossing folder and typed the sentiment on the computer. The brads are by American Crafts.
Challenge 10: I loved this challenge, use the negative space of a die or punch, because I've had this idea in my head for awhile. The green stripe star is Colorbok and the red squares star is DCWV; all the stars were done with Nesties. All of the other papers are from my card stock stash. Both sentiments are Paper Smooches, the one on green is embossed with Recollections white as is the white star; the other one is stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black. For the faux stitching, I used a white Gelly Roll pen and black Copic Multi Liner. The embossing folders are Plaid by Darice and Diamond Plate by Cuttlebug. The brown and black layers are popped.

What a fun and amazing Virtual Card Making Party this has been to kick off OWH's birthday month. I hope you all had as much fun as I did!
